School Psychology

Hampton Township’s District Psychologist, School Psychologist, master’s level school psychology intern, and school psychology practicum students help children and youth succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. They collaborate with administrators, educators, parents, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment for all students. This is accomplished by evaluating data and finding the best solution for each student and situation, and using various strategies to address student need and to improve school and district-wide support systems.

The district psychologist, school psychologist, and school psychology intern administer comprehensive evaluations in order to make program eligibility decisions, as well as work with students individually and in groups. They also provide consultation to teachers and parents regarding effective teaching strategies, the implementation of research-based interventions, behavior management techniques, and how to work with students with disabilities and/or special talents.

Hampton Township’s district psychologist and school psychology intern are active participants on various teams in each building, including data teams, intervention planning teams, child study, student assistance teams (SAP), 504/Chapter 15, and Individual Education Plan (IEP).
